Distributed easily all over India,major production is done in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Well used as spices,they also have medicinal potency which can be used in treatment of many disease with reference of Ayurveda.

Home Remedies:
1. Seeds fomentation in chronic cough and Asthama
2. External application of its Fruit for Abdominal pain
3. For alcohol addicts, seeds given for chewing.
4. To prevent from foul odour of Eranda taila, Ajwain is used
5. Promotes digestion and increase appetite.

10. Shleshma: Alleviate Kapha disorder
11. Gulma : Phantom tumors
12. Pliha roga: Splenomegaly.
13. Ruchikar: Promotes taste sensation
14. Deepana: Promotes Digestion
15. Shukranashak : Decrease semen
